From 1980 to 1989 the awards were given to the best exponents in the history of each discipline.
From 1990 to 1999 the awards were given to the best exponents of the last decade of each discipline.
From 2000 to 2009 the awards are given to the best exponents of the last decade of each discipline and will be indefinitely offered as from the year 2010.
